Baler NHS research studies qualify for 3rd NSEF<\/strong><\/p>\n

Three research studies from the students of Science Technology and Engineering Program (STE) of Baler National High School (BNHS) were qualifiers for the 3rd<\/sup> National Science and Engineering Fair held at Baguio City last Jan. 31 to Feb. 2.<\/p>\n

            The Science Research or Investigatory Project contest with 800 research entries from the Junior High Schools all over the Philippines underwent the screening process of NSEF Philippines where three research studies from Baler NHS qualified among the 300 finalists.<\/p>\n

Research studies were The Feasibility of Urinated Diapers as an Additional Component in Concrete Hollow Blocks<\/em> by Ronniel A. Panganiban, Federico M. Tena, III and Bill Warren  S. Carbon under the supervision of their advisers Rosally M. Lita and  Maria G. Padios; Adult Emergence Inhibitor of Ulasiman Kalat (Oldenlandia diffusa) Extract Against Mosquito Larvae<\/em> conducted by Lei Marvic V. Astoveza, Jayscent Mhaye D. Fernandez and  Darryle Lian L. Javar through the guidance of their advisers Ivy Lynn R. Bacang and Bernadeth R. Nueda; and Thermo Rice Husk: An Eco-Friendly Cooler<\/em> by April Anne C. Valenzuela, Robbe Jhon M. Montemayor and Kenneth P. Manalansang, with their Science teachers Almira E. Pedrozo and Rica L. Samatra.<\/p>\n

Joining the Grade 10 – STE qualifiers were five student- observers from Grade 9 – STE allowed to witness the competition to acquire new ideas and develop critical thinking.<\/p>\n

With the performance shown by the student researchers during the 3rd<\/sup> NSEF, they qualified for the International Science and Invention Fair at Yogyakarta, Indonesia, but failed to join the competition due to COVID \u2013 19 Pandemic.<\/p>\n
